Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity
The Construction Project Manager (CPM) oversees and coordinates all phases of Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity’s
residential construction projects—from site preparation through occupancy. The current project is a duplex at 804 North
Main Street in Greensboro, Vermont, built for CVHFH’s perpetually affordable homeownership program, ensuring long-
term housing stability for income-sensitive Vermonters. This role focuses on project management, coordination, and
leadership rather than hands-on construction, while requiring strong carpentry knowledge to guide volunteers and
ensure quality workmanship. The CPM works closely with the Executive Director, Building Committees, YouthBuild
teams, subcontractors, volunteers, and community partners.

Position Details
- Primary Site Location: 804 North Main Street, Northfield, VT
- Project Type: Duplex supporting CVHFH’s perpetually affordable homeownership program
- Hours: 32–40 per week | On-site Thurs–Sat; occasional Sundays
- Volunteer Build Days: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
- CPM Schedule: typically, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Project Duration: Late March/early April start through early 2027
- Training Requirement: Habitat for Humanity International Competent Person Training (completed after hire)
- Compensation: $70,000–$78,000 annually, based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage construction schedules; plan volunteer-friendly tasks in advance
- Coordinate YouthBuild teams (Mon–Thurs), subcontractors, and volunteers
- Provide on-site leadership, training, and safety oversight
- Order materials, track inventory, and coordinate with budget staff
- Ensure compliance with Habitat, OSHA, Vermont building, and energy codes
- Maintain documentation, inspections, and certificate of occupancy requirements
Required Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of residential construction and building science
- Strong carpentry background and project management experience
- Experience leading construction sites, volunteers, or teams
- Excellent communication, organization, and teaching skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups; patience and flexibility are essential
