Job Description Construction Supervisor

Position:
Site-Supervisor for Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity, Inc.; Build located in Randolph, VT. Two part-time volunteer positions available.


Qualifications:
The candidate(s) will have background in all phases of residential construction, including craftsmanship and carpentry skills. Organizational skills and experience managing construction projects is a must. Good communication and leadership skills are necessary to instruct unskilled volunteers in construction methods.


Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Acts in partnership with the Building Committee. Reports to Executive Director.
  • Provides progress reports to the Building Committee Chair & Executive Director. Monitors the budget for the build. Follows design plans and works with Efficiency Vermont Consultant, meets energy efficient standards set by the building committee and Efficiency Vermont.
  • Coordinates and oversees the work of all sub-contractors, labor, and materials for build.
  • Monitors the job for having the right amount of material and subcontractors on the job at all times.
  • Inspects each phase of work to determine acceptable quality and that each trade is finished on schedule.
  • Participates in a two-day OSHA Competent Person Safety Training, paid for by the affiliate.
  • Maintains a safe working environment and follows all safety procedures. Provides appropriate supervision and training of volunteers on the job site. Keep daily log of activity & volunteer training, as required by Habitat for Humanity International.
  • Follows design plans and works with the Family Partner on an as needed basis.
  • Accountable for the job until 100% complete and sold to homeowner.
  • Willing to agree to a criminal record background check.
