Part-Time Accounting Manager (Affordable Housing)
Organization: Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity
Location: Central Vermont (Montpelier, VT)
Hours: 15 – 20 hours/week
Compensation: $28 - 35–/hour
Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit dedicated to building affordable housing, is seeking a detail-oriented part-time Accounting Manager to manage day-to-day financial operations. This role supports construction projects and organizational accounting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and financial transparency.
Key Responsibilities:
● Manage bookkeeping using QuickBooks: A/P, A/R, reconciliations
● Payroll preparation.
● Track project budgets, job costing, and grant expenditures.
● Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with audits.
● Maintain organized records and support compliance with grant and donor requirements.
● Collaborate with staff, leadership, and external accountants.
Qualifications:
● 3+ years bookkeeping/accounting experience (nonprofit & construction preferred).
● Proficiency in QuickBooks or other accounting software package.
● Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
● Organized, accurate, and able to work independently.
