INTERESTED IN JOINING THE CVHFH BOARD OR DIRECTORS?

Board member responsibilities:
FORESIGHT, OVERSIGHT, INSIGHT
Board Members have legal and fiduciary responsibilities for our organization’s assets. Board members provide guidance by contributing their particular skills to the organization’s culture, strategic focus, effectiveness, and financial sustainability. Board members serve as ambassadors and advocates for the organization’s mission. Board members are also expected to help with fundraising.

​Term: 3 years, for a maximum of 2 terms. Terms typically start in July.
Regular Board Meeting: Monthly, 3rd Wednesday. 5-7pm via Zoom or in Person. 2 hours.
Regular Committee Meetings: Monthly, date based on committee. 1-2 hours.
Annual Meeting: 3rd Wednesday in June.
Annual Board Retreat: half day, date TBD
Fiscal Year: July 1st - June 30th
 
Ideal candidates are…
MISSION DRIVEN. Prospective board members are passionate for our vision of creating a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
ACTIVE. Our organization is powered by volunteers and so board members are expected to serve on one of our volunteer committees: Homeowner Support, Homeowner Selection, Building Committee, Finance Committee, Fundraising Committee, or Outreach Committee.
LOCAL. Board members must live and/or work in Washington or Orange County.
 
CVHFH is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, which is a Christian, ecumenical, affordable housing non-profit. Board members do not need to be Christian. We do not proselytize.
